Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a mentor to AD99 Solutions Foundation students. Serving as a mentor is a rewarding experience and an opportunity for personal and professional growth. Completing this form will help you understand the skills and time/resource commitments of this position. You may find it helpful to read through the entire application and Mentor Requirements before you begin filling it out.

Please submit the completed application and send a copy of your current resume to AD99 Solutions Executive Director, Akita Donald at Akita@AD99.org. Mentors are selected on an as-needed basis.

This application will be kept confidential and on file at the AD99 Solutions Foundation office. The organization uses applications to identify and evaluate potential mentor candidates.

Mentors may be matched with one or two students. Mentors are welcome to organize activities with their Mentees outside of those scheduled by AD99 Solutions, but all additional events must be documented and approved in advance with the Cohort Leader.

MENTOR REQUIREMENTS 

  1. Serve as a mentor for at least one full school year.

  2. Meet with your Mentee in person at least four times a year.

  3. Help Mentees gain the skills and confidence to build up a sense of responsibility toward their own future.

  4. Widen your Mentees’ horizons and enhance their capacity for learning by sharing your experiences.

  5. Listen patiently to your Mentees and communicate with them with such means appropriate to their background.
